The Press - radio, TV and print media

Canberra Times, 21 Oct 2002Relations between the Centre and the Press are largely handled by our two parent organisations, CSIRO Plant Industry and the Australian National Botanic Gardens or the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, depending on the nature of the story.

A range of newspaper and magazine articles raise the profile of the Centre and its scientists. Examples include: 'Wattle the key to natural look' in the Sunday Herald Sun; 'Native plants fetch millions' focusing on orchids in the Queensland Sunday Mail, 'Fighting Fusarium on all fronts' in the Bourke Western Herald and the North West Magazine, 'Moonie trial to beet bitou bush' in the Coffs Harbour Advocate; 'Farmers to halt flora decline' in Australian Landcare; 'Exotics become weeds warning' in the Border Mail.

In recent years, articles featuring the work of the Centre appeared in: Australian Geographic, Australian Horticulture, Biotechnonogy News, Canberra Times, Countryman (WA), Farming Ahead, Herbert River Express, Nature Australia, North West Magazine, Rural Weekly, Scientrific (for kids), Sydney Morning Herald, and The Age, to name but a few, illustrating the diversity and range of media releases from the communication groups in our two parent organizations.
