PROJECT INTERESTS

Dissemination of botanical information.
In the distant past this was largely through publications, displays and exhibitions, but since 1995 most of my efforts were via the Internet.
I previously maintained the web pages for both the Centre for Australian National Biodiversity Research and the Australian National Botanic Gardens, and managed the Botanical Information Group at the Botanic Gardens, comprising the Australian Plant Image Index (a large collection of 35mm slides, born-digital images, and line illustrations) and web access to this resource; and the Plant Records Unit of the Botanic Gardens which labels and monitors the living plants for the visiting public.
Currently I assist with various aspects of the web-site, including the population of entries for the 'Collectors & Illustrators' biographical website managed jointly with the Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria (CHAH). I am also curating the ACRA cultivar specimen collection in the Herbarium.
In a private capacity I have been joint author with John Wrigley in a range of botanical/horticultural books on Australian native plants.
