Smith, Rosemary Margaret (1933 - 2004)Born 4 May 1933 at Gee Cross, Hyde, Cheshire, ENGLAND; died in UK in 2004.
Secondary school: Erskine School, Edinburgh, Scotland.
She was a Scientific Officer, Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, from 1950.
She specialized in the taxonomy of the Zingiberaceae, or ginger family.
Many of the species she classified and identified were found in Asian countries, especially in the isolated island of Borneo.
She was also a noted botanical artist.
