Born 8 Feb. 1944;
Robert (Rob) gained his Master of
Agricultural Science degree from
The University of Melbourne in
1976 and spent most of his career
as a research scientist at the Keith
Turnbull Research Institute in
Frankston, Victoria working on the
physiology and ecology of weeds,
and the application and formulation
of herbicides.
He now specialises in
editing and plant identification for
the publishing business he runs with
Fiona Richardson. They work from their bush
property in the Brisbane Ranges of
Victoria and are both keen sailors
and photographers.
He is a co-author of the poplular book, Weeds of the South-East - an Identification Guide for Australia 3rd edition (2016)
With his wife Fiona, he has been a significant donor to the Australian Plant Image Index, mantained by the Australian National Botanic Gardens, especially with regard to photographs of weeds and naturalised plants in Australia.
