Medd, Richard William (Dick) (1946 - )He was appointed Agronomist (with a Bathelor of Rural Science degree) with the NSW Government on 1 January 1971, (Confirmed 19 May 1972).
In 1987, together with Bruce Auld, he published:
Weeds: An
'Illustrated Botanical Guide to the Weeds of Australia',
Inkata Press, Melbourne.
In later years, together with Colin Bower, he published:
'Biodiversity and Endemism within the Mount Canobolas Volcanic Complex' (2019)
followed by:
'Orchids of Central Western NSW - A photographic guide to orchid identification, biology, ecology, pollination and conservation' (2023).
This book is the first comprehensive guide to the native orchids of Central Western NSW. The 140 species and hybrids are described and illustrated with high quality photographs for ease of identification.
In retirement he continues to be actively involved with conservation work on Mount Canobolas, near Orange, NSW.
