Garland, James Robert   (1839 - 1915)

Born in Sydney, NSW, in 1839; died 5 Feb. 1915 in Homebush, Sydney, NSW.

Solicitor, first in Sydney, then Wagga Wagga 1870-90, then returned to Sydney.

On council of Linnean Soc. N.S.W. 1892-1908.

In 1913 compiled a history of Wagga Wagga.

Collected many plants around Wagga, eg. at Mimosa, Hanging Rock, also at Tumut & Cootamundra, for Mueller 1885-90; Yass 1891, Adelong 1893, Pittwater 1894.

Specimens donated to Linn. Soc., later transferred to MEL, also NSW.
