NEWS RELEASE
The Australian National Botanic Gardens is joining in Canberra’s celebration of diversity by inviting visitors to experience a truly multicultural performance, Music and Dances of Neighbours, on Sunday 15 February from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
What better place to enjoy authentic music and dance from Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria and Greece, than in the lush green shade of the Education lawn at the Gardens?
The Gardens’ Director, Anne Duncan said the Gardens is pleased to be involved in such a popular Canberra event for the second year in a row.
“The groups are dynamic and exciting to watch. They will take the audience on a cultural journey of song and dance to their respective countries,” Ms Duncan said.
Performers include the ACT Torres Strait Islander Dance Group, the Maori group Te Rere O Te Tarakakao, Ensemble Dusha Balkana and the Canberra Hellenic Dancers.
A printed program is available which includes information about the groups, the floral emblems from each country and greetings in the four languages.
