Deputy Chief Minister Katy Gallagher will open the Snakes Alive! exhibition at the Australian National Botanic Gardens on Monday 12 January at 12.15 pm.
Snakes Alive! runs from Monday 12 January to Sunday 18 January 2009.
Around 100 reptiles, representing over 30 different species will be on display at Snakes Alive! – one of the most diverse reptile shows in Australia. It will feature pythons, venomous land snakes, lizards, frogs, turtles, a crocodile and geckos.
The display includes the locally endangered corroboree frog, a death adder and a variety of Australian pythons. People will be able to experience some of the pythons first hand.
Snakes Alive! is jointly presented by the Australian National Botanic Gardens and the ACT Herpetological Association, and has been an extremely popular summer event since its inception in 2002.
