Canberra’s most popular outdoor music series commences this weekend at the Australian National Botanic Gardens.
Summer Sounds 2007 features five consecutive weekends of excellent local bands and musicians performing in the setting of the world’s finest collection of Australian native plants.
The series is the major fundraising activity for the Friends of the Gardens, and donations collected are used to fund new projects each year. Projects funded in recent years include the Cascades water feature beside the Visitor Centre, the fogging system and supplementary palms and tree ferns in the Rainforest Gully, classroom microscopes for the Education Centre and new electric scooters for use by Gardens’ visitors.
