Acrosorus Copel.
Small, erect or pendulous epiphytes. Rhizome dictyostelic, erect or ascending with densley crowded fronds towards the apex, scales basally attached, elongate, entire, +/- opaque brown. Fronds stipitate to subsessile, the stipes not articulate to the rhizome, lamina linear or elongate, +/- tapered at both ends, deeply pinnatifid or pinnate with adnate contiguous pinnae, each pinnae with a single medial vein, thick and leathery, glabrescent, the rachis often with short, still unicellular hairs; veins simple or often forked, basal pinnae sterile, apical pinnae fertile. Sori solitary and subapical on each segment, protected by the reflexed and +/- fused distal margins of the pinna, receptacle mostly slightly elongate, terminal or subterminal on the vein, +/-immersed in the lamina, exindusiate, parphyses lacking, sporangia on a uniseiate stalk, naked, annulus vertical, interrupted of c.12 thickened cells. Spores trilete.
