Authority: Municipal Brisbane City Council (see also City Botanic Gardens)

In 1994 the colloquial name Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens was changed to Brisbane Botanic Gardens (and for further local qualification) at suburban Mt Coot-tha.

The City Botanic Gardens ceased to be our city's main Botanic Gardens in 1983 and they are now known internationally as the City Gardens - our state's number one Heritage Park.

In 1983 all the functions of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens were carried on at the new site which is now known as the Brisbane Botanic Gardens!
